Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! in Cape Town and Melrose Arch recently launched their innovative ambassador programme in which two hip young individuals who embrace and embody the spirit of Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! – ie hot and cool at the same time – were chosen to represent the trendy, urban brand.
For the next two months Lorinda Voges in Jozi and Tracey Barnes in the Mother City will be enjoying all the joys and benefits of being Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! VIPs while tweeting, blogging and Facebooking their experiences to their fans, their followers, the world.
Vivacious and adventurous Tracey, 23, was born and raised in Cape Town. An avid traveller – most recently to Bostwana, Namibia and Zimbabwe, as well as Thailand and throughout Europe - she knows a good hotel when she sees one. “I love South Africa and all that our culture and country have to offer,” says Tracey.
Socialising and spending time with her friends are also important to this gutsy young woman with her easy smile and infectious laughter. “I want everyone around me to be happy and inspired and push people to live their best life,” she says. “I take each day with a fresh perspective focusing on the positives that are all around me, because if our attitudes are right and we feel alive we are all capable of just about anything.”
Tracey earned her ambassador wings not only with her energetic attitude but because she believes so strongly in the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! brand. “There is so much potential and I really am excited about what I am sure will be a stunning experience,” she says. “I want guests to feel as excited and exhilarated as I am about the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice!.”
Tracey’s counterpart in Jozi for the next two months is Lorinda Voges, who has a strong entertainment and music industry background. She is also a tech whiz, and owns her own social media management company. No stranger to Facebook and Twitter then!
