Mpumalanga's charming Protea Hotel Hazyview, located just 15 minutes drive away from the Kruger National Park, is undergoing an extensive refurbishment of all its 87 rooms. Work has already started on the first 24 rooms, and the refurbishment is expected to be completed by the end of August 2011. Work is being done in six-week phases with minimal disruption to hotel GUESTS.
Nicholas Barenblatt, Group Marketing and Advertising Manager for the Protea Hospitality Group, said the refurbishment was part of Protea Hotels' ongoing commitment to exceeding GUEST expectations at each of its 120 hotels across Africa. “To maintain the high standards and culture of service excellence that GUESTS associate with Protea Hotels, we decided, along with the hotel owners, to upgrade the rooms at this scenic hotel.”
The revamped rooms have been custom designed to reflect the character of the lush natural surroundings. The use of warm chocolate brown, toffee and straw tones, complimented by carefully-placed accents of colour and texture, enhances the contemporary but homely feel of the rooms.
The en-suite rooms, which overlook lush gardens teeming with bird life, are being fitted with new tiles, carpets and curtains. Each bed is being fitted with a new accent headboard and the furniture in all of the spacious rooms is being re-upholstered. Linen is being kept crisp and white. The bathrooms are being completely redone to offer GUESTS the best in luxury accommodation. Custom-framed photographic artwork, depicting scenes from the garden, add to the warmth of the rooms. GUESTS can also look forward to in room technology upgrades with the inclusion of new flat screen LCD TVs.
Protea Hotel Hazyview, situated on a 10-acre garden estate in the heart of the Mpumalanga Lowveld, is perfectly positioned for a visit to the Kruger National Park and for exploring this majestic region.
