For a unique wildlife experience in the heart of the city, try the Franklin Game Reserve. Established in 1930, it is one of only two city wildlife reserves in the world. The other is in Hong Kong.

Apart from the game, there are many bird species, including Karoo scrub robins, the furry flycatcher and violet-eared waxbills.

Visitors can also take a day drive to the top of Naval Hill in the reserve for the best view of the city.
